Operation Shoebox needs help - Each year we approach charities in Cape Town and ask them to submit lists of the children in their care. We then find sponsors to 'adopt' each child and make up a shoebox filled with Christmas goodies for them.
Operation Shoebox needs help - Each year we approach charities in Cape Town and ask them to submit lists of the children in their care. We then find sponsors to 'adopt' each child and make up a shoebox filled with Christmas goodies for them.
Sponsors are supplied with the child's name and surname, age, gender, clothing and shoe size, and where possible a little snippet of information on their hobbies and interests. This enables you to personalise the contents of your shoebox.
We have drop-off points across Cape Town. Once you have made up your box you simply drop it off at your chosen drop-off point and we do the rest. You’re welcome to be involved in the sorting and distribution of the boxes, and in some instances, can meet your ‘adopted’ child via one of our Christmas Tree events.
Upcoming Events Are:
29 October - move boxes from drop-offs to sorting hub. We need people who have large cars / vans to drive to drop offs and collect boxes, others to be at Pinelands to offload as these come in.
5 November - - 09:00 to 16:30, sorting at Mutual park , We need as many hands as possible to help sort boxes.
